Impala Park

Day 12         27th October

We decided not to go to church but instead to walk straight after breakfast to the Impala Park .... a small game reserve/zoo about a mile away, and spend the morning there.

The more dangerous animals are in large wired enclosures .... cheetah, leopard, African buffalo, wart-hogs, ostriches, and the lions we hear roaring each evening.

There is also one of the rare white rhino there, but we didn't see it.    Hiding in the bushes I suspect.   We also walked down to the edge of Nam Lolwe, the local name for the Winam or Kavirondo Gulf of Lake Victoria.   It looks vast; you cant see the other side, yet it is only a 'small' inlet of the lake proper.
