We have a QR code !
Work in the office continues apace. We have a good team of volunteers, each of whom comes in one or two long mornings each week. Together, we are working on publicity, fund-raising, keeping the kit for volunteers ready and up to date, and so on. One of my jobs is now to put together the comprehensive medical kit each volunteer takes out to their project for their own use, assuming most of them will not be near a doctor or hospital. The kit includes various anti-biotics, first aid stuff, IV fluid, needles and syringes, other drugs for diarrhoea, re-hydration, constipation, bites, allergies, etc. etc. There are also detailed 'self-treatment' notes included in the pack.
I'm also getting to grips with ordering visas and air tickets to various African countries. Its all interesting work, and is my way of keeping in touch with Africa until I can go again, probably next spring.
We now have a QR code !! I didn't know what these were until my son showed me ...
I've altered the top of my blog .... it deeply troubles me that this dump, right next to the posh supermarket in the background of the picture, is home to many young kids. I wonder how many of the ladies pushing their trolleys, laden with food, realise that just yards from them are hungry, dirty, vulnerable, orphaned children ?
