I wonder what the square thing is on top of the clock tower ? Obviously I must go and look ! One change in the town is the coming of massive advertising hoardings everywhere, in gaudy colours, advertising banks, deodorants and breast feeding !
In the top picture, behind the clock tower, was Kisumu Grocers, where we shopped about once every three weeks. When I was in Canada about 15 years ago, I travelled across the central part by train, and got talking to a young Indian lady visiting family in Vancouver; it turned out she had been brought up in Kisumu Grocers which her family owned ! She must have been one of the little Indian girls playing around in the shop in the 70's !! Small world ......
