Once again, after a long 'silence' I open my blog and now we are in the middle of 2023, midsummers day ! Since my last post, we have celebrated the coronation of our new King .... and in the way of English coronations, it rained.
I was a child of nearly 10 years old, living in London, at the previous coronation .... and well remember seeing television for the first time, and marvelled at Queen Salote of Tonga, who rode in a carriage along the Mall, with the hood down, so that she could see, and people could see her, despite the rain !
This time I also watched the coronation on TV .... not the London neighbours little 12" black and white set, but on a cinema sized screen in full colour at the local village hall !
I do like the jaunty angle at which he wore the crown on the Buckingham Palace balcony !
