The 'Fiftieth Year' trip starts here ....

.... remember ?     I had a strong desire to return to Kenya this year in September, on the 50th anniversary of my first arriving in Kenya .... but it wasn't to be  😞  so I'm going on a pilgrimage journey to Jerusalem instead. 
  

Two days later ......

Here I am, in Bethlehem, in Palestine.   We are staying in a Francisan monastery right next to Manger Square, and the Church of the Nativity.   Food good, rest of the tour members nice people.   But no kettle in the rooms for midnight tea !!

people have to bend right down to enter it.   Its about 4 ft tall. 

I'm going to bed now; have brought a filthy cold with me and need to catch up on sleep.   Its 9.30 p.m. here ..... so must be about 7.30 in the UK.
