Two and a half months since I last wrote anything, and Africa and particularly Kenya are always in my thoughts.
Another 'Old Africa' magazine has come ....
Interesting article about the E. A Safari Rally which we used to watch roaring through the muddy roads and major towns. Joginder Singh was my hero in the 1970's !
Then I've been reading this:-
This is about nine youngsters from Dadaab, the refugee camp which is the largest in the world. Situated in north eastern Kenya, it houses up to three-quarters of a million people, mostly from neighbouring Somalia and some from Eritrea and Ethiopia. Here in Europe, we just know about refugees who are fleeing Syria to try to get to Europe, and some who attempt to cross the Mediterranean from Libya and north Africa .... but we hear very little about refugees who don't have the means to escape war and turmoil and end up in places like Dadaab.
