Weather ... its the rains now ! (In Kisumu)

I am feeling much better now; got some different pills from the doc which are improving things slowly but steadily.   I got to thinking about the weather in Kisumu, for we've gone into autumn with a vengeance here; wind, rain, cold mornings with frost ... in fact, I'd say it's rapidly getting to be winter !

So I had a look on the BBC weather site and this was the forecast for the next few days in Kisumu.

It's definitely the rainy season now, which if I remember correctly, will last until about early December.   When we go at the end of January it should be dry, and hot, and because the city is right next to Lake Victoria, I think it will also be humid.

And trying to remember the Dholuo for 'rain', I think it is "koth", and the sun is "chieng' ".  A lot of rain would be "koth madoung' "  = big rains !    I can't remember the word for 'much' ... except in Swahili, when it would be "mvua myingi" = much rain !!   I remember I said a couple of months back that I keep getting muddled with Swahili and the Dholuo language ... maybe ... I hope ... this won't matter too much once in Kenya.
