Coffee Morning tomorrow to raise awareness ...

Goodness, my house is dusty !   I thought I'd got rid of most of the building dust about two weeks back when son-in-law finished phase one of the house renovations he's doing for me ... but when you know you live in a house-proud village ... well, the dust has to GO !

Coffee mornings in the village usually raise small amounts of money, dropped discretely into a bowl on the table among the cakes and scones.  I'm not having a bowl for money; indeed no-one is expected to give anything !   Instead, I'm giving all my guests an envelope to take home with them, with a letter about the project, some HATW literature and a gift aid form, and a request that they might like to sponsor me !

I've got lots of pictures and captions stuck on my sitting room walls, showing Pandipieri, and the sort of poor people who live there, and the children, and the sort of furniture the boys might make once we have completed the project.

We'll see how successful... or not ... this new approach to village coffee mornings is !

Better get the vacuum cleaner out now ...

Todays picture is of one of my 'son' Joseph's relations ... Margaret Achieng' ... I think she was the sister of Josephs mother ... she was the local pot maker !   I've got a pot just like this one ...
