I saw this book reviewed in the latest 'Old Africa' magazine, and was immediately tempted ... so now I own a copy !
What makes it different to most books about African history, is that the author writes from an African perspective; so that for example, when writing about Egypt, the pyramids, etc. she uses African sources and opinions and knowledge, not that of explorers and visiting archeologists, who all report and write from their (usually !) white perspective.
I'm enjoying what I've read so far (up to page 36 !) Only about 500 to go !!
