I've been reading the news from Kenya with a feeling of fore-boding .... and today, I received an email from a good friend, a Luo, who lives in Nairobi.
He says:-
"Truth be said, I don't feel safe in my country any more. The tribal divisions have never been this bad.
The IEBC chairman himself confessed that holding elections in such a tense environment is not wise. He also laid bare some very serious challenges the commission is facing at the moment. The truth is, the government is in charge of IEBC.
Policemen have been deployed in big numbers in Nyanza and Western. The court cases challenging the event slated on 26th are so many. I mean, we are in a total mess as a country. But we are looking to God to salvage the situation."
Let's hope that God is willing ....
(IEBC = Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission)
