Flight KQ101 to Nairobi; then another plane to Kisumu.
I'm all packed, and starting to get a little bit excited. I've arranged not to have any meetings or visits until after the weekend; I think I'll need to just sit and 'chill' for a couple of days to get over the travelling and to get acclimatised to the change of temperature and humidity.
I see that gold has been discovered in Western Kenya, but from the skimpy report I read (below) it seems to be somewhere in the Kakamega area .... which I mentioned last year, when I quoted this:- http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/58694419
Report from this week:- https://www.standardmedia.co.ke/business/article/2001230925/uk-firm-discovers-gold-worth-sh171-billion-in-kakamega
I also checked the weather that I might expect; it looks like Kisumu is getting some rain at last ! And not too hot.
