Maasai dancing !

One night at the Mara Serena, a group of Maasai dancers turned up; they paraded through the lodge dining room, singing and doing their grunting chants.   All semi-naked, with red cloths over their shoulders, and beads and clay plastered hair .... very authentic, even to the smell of animal fat and red ochre !

(The only slightly bizarre thing was that one of them wore glasses !)

My camera doesn't cope well with dimly lit indoor photography when people are moving, but I got a few shots !

 

This man was doing the Maasai traditional standing jumps .... its quite incredible to see how high they can jump from a still position ..... his head is almost hitting the lamps above him.
