Update from Kenya, #5

This is to be a quickie, as I'm typing it in the cyber caff, and the shillings are ticking over !

Since my last entry, we have had a half day off from work, and went to visit two local schools.   The first was at Alara, a primary school near Kiboswa, more or less right on the Equator, and the other was at Dago Kakori, where we visited a secondary school.

Here are some of the pics from those visits:-

Childrens desks are pretty rough

A class of sixty four children, many sitting five to a desk

Then we visited an art centre at Pandipieri, where capable boys, orphans or ex street dwellers, are being taught artistic skills by the Mill Hill Fathers, and their work is outstanding ... many have left and gone into small businesses of their own making clay figures or painting pictures which they sell.

Then we were invited to stay for lunch !  Father Hans Bergman is in the centre.
